  • Nand repair - IPhone 6

I have an iPhone 6 that was getting error 40. Removed NAND and put in naviplus and would not read. Tried hdd fix and still did not work. So the only way I could fix it was to format the nand. After I did that the band would read. So I need to set the ids on the band again. My question is what information is required other than serial to update on the interface. Do any of the Mac addresses matter?

On the 6, I don't think anything is required other than serial number--but you have to be able to read it from the original chip. Error 40 is NAND not detected so make sure you have NAND power before putting it back on. The word "update" here jumps out at me--you'll have to restore after NAVI--iTunes update won't work.

I got the serial from the imei. So I would have to manually type it in to write back to chip via naviplus. Are you saying that won’t work?

I haven't done a NAND repair since iOS11 and I know there are changes to the way everything works. It sounds like on iOS11 the phone can pass restore without the wifi and mac address, but will NOT activate. It sounds like there are "services" out there in the ethical grey zone where you can use the IMEI to extract the information you need (Mac address and WiFi) from people willing to risk their jobs at Apple to run a GSX report for you. That isn't something that I can support. It may also be possible to read data from the EEPROM, although that requires an expensive EEPROM reader and may not work on the 6.
