  • Iphone 7 boot looping

Customer brought me iphone 7 that they said wasn't charging. They had someone replaced the charge port and battery. When I get it the phone just boot loops after apple logo after a few seconds. I booted into itunes mode and was able to recovery successfully, but then it goes back to its boot looping mode.

The initial problem they said was because of a "drop". Could this be issue with audio IC? I am not thinking charging issue because amp meter draws when plugged into battery while boot looping/itunes works/powers on battery only.

First things first, does it have a known good home button, camera / prox flex and screen with intact home button link cable on it ?.
only reason I ask is if none of those are true it can cause boot looping. I'd try a known good battery too as iv had bad batteries cause that problem.

To change the charging port in the 7 you have to remove the logic board ???? The cable goes under the board. A pain??

If if was me and told the charging port was changed I be looking to see if there was any damage in this area especially if it was the ok before it was changed

The phone charges so the charging lines are fine, it also restores from iTunes so the data lines are fine too so it's unlikely the port itself is bad.

I never said the charging port was damaged I not know if it is or not. But my logic way of looking at it is we are told the charging port and battery where replaced I not know if the issues was there or not there before it was changed. But if it was not then for me the logic way to go is to look is around this area for damage. This is the reason to look for the history has it helps to know what went before and could possible point you in the right direction

this is the way I would logically look at thinks

Does it ever go to the lock screen? At the end of the restore process? Make sure you are attempting to boot with good foam assembly and home button or iPhone 7 will loop
