It needs to be in an OEM housing. The iPhone X have a thermal sensor on the charge port, so you need to have an OEM charge port (not the new aftermarket ones) for the first "parts" test. Once you rule that out, then you can move on to screen and battery only.

Good Morning, Never thought I was stupid but having been a non paying member of the forum for a few months. Yesterday I paid my subscription so I could make a post and ask for a little help. Cannot find the New topic button to start a NEW topic for the life of me. See you have managed it 'HOW' Kind Regards Tony

Thanks, it is in an aftermarket housing. I have it setup with just a screen and battery, standing by to see if it random reboots (using the stopwatch)

By far the most common problems on iPhone X are "parts problems" Things connector to the logic board, instead of the logic board itself. Your first step is to put the logic board into a known good OEM housing from another iPhone X. If the problem persists, then disconnect everything attached until you just have a battery and a screen. Does it still persist?

    iphone X random reboot

Hello, I am new to the forum. So hello from Australia.
I have an iphone X that is randomly rebooting. I suspected it may be the middle layer connections so I have reballed the middle layer.. twice.. and it still reboots.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how i can trouble shoot where the problem lies? Possibly what components would cause an iphone x to reboot and how i can localise the fault using multimeter diode mode?
    Thanks very much in advance.
